Greetings and welcome to the official website and virtual home of the Leavenworth Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. On behalf of the dedicated college-educated women of our “small but mighty chapter” I am honored to serve as the 23rd President as we continue our legacy of providing quality community service and programming in Leavenworth County as we move “Forward With Fortitude: Engaging Our Sisterhood, Empowering Our Communities and Elevating Our Impact.”
Since our Chapter’s chartering on April 30, 1989 by 12 dynamic women, we have remained faithful and committed to our beloved Sorority’s ideals of Sisterhood, Scholarship, Service and Social Action. Our members exemplify and encourage high cultural, intellectual, and moral standards.
We Deltas boldly confront challenges in the areas of education, health, international development, and the strengthening of families through an extensive array of public service initiatives. We are unwavering in our commitment to deliver impactful community-based programs, projects, and events through our Five-Point Programmatic Thrust in the areas of:
International Awareness and Involvement
Physical and Mental Health
Political Awareness and Involvement
We thank our supportive and generous community that has worked hand-in-hand with us for more than 30 years. Whether a visitor or a member of our illustrious sisterhood looking for a chapter home, I hope you will enjoy reading about our history and the programs and initiatives sponsored by our Chapter.
I am delighted that you took the time to stop and explore our website. As you learn more about our Chapter and programming, please feel free to contact us for additional information.
Yours in Sisterhood and Service,
Tanya Young, President
